WHO WE ARE
SnapLedger is a privacy-first personal finance app built by Open Tale Studio. We built it because you shouldn't have to hand over your bank credentials just to track your spending.

WHAT DATA WE COLLECT
We collect only what's needed to run the app:
- Email address — for account login via Supabase Auth
- Receipt & statement photos — uploaded for AI text extraction
- Transaction data — merchant, amount, date, category extracted from your receipts
- Budget and category settings — your preferences stored in your account
- Basic device info — device type for app functionality only, not for tracking

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure
- To extract transactions from receipt photos using AI
- To show your spending history, budgets, and categories
- To sync your data across your devices
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or anything beyond operating the app.

THIRD PARTY SERVICES
We use a small number of trusted services to run SnapLedger:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage with encryption at rest and in transit
- Anthropic (Claude API) — receipt images are sent for OCR text extraction and are subject to Anthropic's data retention policies
- RevenueCat / Stripe — subscription and payment processing; we never store your card details
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

DATA STORAGE & SECURITY
Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security (RLS) — only your authenticated account can access your data. All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.
Receipt images are stored in your private Supabase Storage bucket and are inaccessible to other users.

YOUR RIGHTS
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Delete — delete your account and all data from Settings → Delete Account
- Correct — update or correct your personal information at any time
- Export — export your transaction data as CSV directly from the app

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
SnapLedger is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us immediately.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top and notify you in-app if changes are significant. Continued use of SnapLedger after updates means you accept the revised policy.
